928年、ジャヤヴァルマン4世は都をアンコールからKoh Kerに移した。Koh Kerには国家寺院としてプラサートトムが築かれ、また多数の寺院や貯水池(The Rahal)が築かれた。しかしKoh Kerに都が置かれた期間は短く、ジャヤヴァルマン4世が941年に没するとその子ハルシャヴァルマン2世の短い治世を経てラジェンドラヴァルマン2世の時代(944年)に都は再びアンコールに戻ることになる。現在のKoh Kerは森に飲み込まれた遺跡であり、そこに至るには長時間の悪路と地雷の危険を覚悟しなければならない。
